Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea. Its aim is to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week.

First of all, sorry I haven't been able to visit and leave comments on some of my Qwertwins (You can find these blogs at the bottom of my blog sidebar ^_^). My life is currently in the autopilot mode due to the fast-approaching exams. Keeping things posted on this blog is hard enough for me nowadays. But fret not, after 13th Nov I'll be freeeeeeee and I'm going for a reading rampage! Haha. Anyway, I didn't do this meme last week because I got nothing to show off LOL! But this week, somehow so many review copies are made available!

Bought
Speechless by Hannah Harrington
I think this year is a rejuvenation year for contemporary YA books. And this is one of those books which made a huge splash. I believe if a contemporary book can gain such hype among the surplus of YA paranormal books, then this book must be extremely good. :)

Review copies
Pantomime by Laura Lam
That cover with that facial expression? I'd read this for the sake of that cover alone. But what's this, 5-stars review after 5-stars review on GR? I think Pantomine will be HUGE!

The Mad Scientist’s Daughter  by Cassandra Rose Clarke
You know I'd read anything by Cassandra Rose Clarke. But I'm a little worried to be honest because this book is not a YA book. I feel like a Harry Potter fan, trying to read The Casual Vacancy here.

First Frost by Liz DeJesus
I've seen a lot of positive reviews for this one! Plus, I heard it got a major fairy tale element. Sounds like something I would totally read!

Islanders by John Barlow
I'm longing for a good thriller, so this one better be good. :)

Wool by Hugh Howey
Another self-pub author secured a book deal with a major publishing company!

Libera Me (Requiem #2) by Christine Fonseca

Currently reading this. For those who are not familiar with Christine's books, do check them out if you like melodramatic reads. :)

Thank you so much Strange Chemistry, Musa Publishing, Random House Australia, John Barlow and Christine Fonseca.

Freebies
Exiled (The Protector, #1)  by M.R. Merrick
I think M.R. Merrick is one of the most popular indie authors out there. I bet he must have a very good personality! I hope I can say the same for his books. :)

Mark of the Princess (The Kingdom Chronicles #1) by B.C. Morin
Been seeing a lot of positive reviews for this one too.

Iron's Prophecy (The Iron Fey #4.5) by Julie Kagawa
Aaaah!! Why the blurb has to be so spoilery!!! I haven't read the entire series, you know. :(

Swag
I won all these from Christine Fonseca's Transcend Release Blitz giveaway.
p/s: I read Lacrimosa just because I felt indebted to her. So if you want me to read your books, gimme free stuff. Tee hee

Oh you got Speechless!! :D I loved that book! I hope you like it as much as I did!
Pantomime & The Mad Scientist's Daughter look so good. I'm adding these to my TBR!
And I seriously need to start reading The Iron Fey books! They seem to be so popular, and I'm so behind :(
Oh and don't worry, I'm pretty sure you'll receive the His Black Wings swag pack soon :)

I didn't request The Mad Scientist's Daughter even though I loved her YA read. I think I'll wait to see what everyone thinks of it. So excited to see Pantomime made your pile too! I love the sound of that book and can't wait to read it myself. :)

I LOVED SPEECHLESS. SO. MUCH. I've heard fabulous things about Mr. Merrick's books too, I hope to get to them soon! Happy reading and thanks for stopping by A Reading Daydreamer!

@ Hira: Haha. Don't worry. I'm still at book no 1.5 of The Iron Fey series. I keep getting distracted by other books.

@ Sam: I see. Hopefully I get around reading The Mad Scientist's Daughter soon so that I can tell you what I think about it. :)

@ Jen: Whoaa~~ It's good to know that so many people love Speechless. I don't buy books very often so I hope I made the right choice this time. :)

I agree, there are lots of awesome YA contemporaries being released this year - I hope you'll enjoy Speechless!

Have a great time reading all the fabulous books :)

Yay for YA contemporaries! I hope there will be more awesome YA contemporaries coming out next year!

Ooh, I loved Speechless! I hope you like it, Zuleeza! This also reminds me that I need to buy myself a copy of Iron's Prophecy. I completely forgot that it was released! Oops. Thanks for stopping by my blog, Zuleeza! Enjoy your books!

Hi! I welcome comments and feedback! But because I suck at HTML code, I don't know how to add reply button to each comment (I tried googled it but I think this template doesn't allow such change), so I will be very lousy at keeping track of the comments but it doesn't mean that I don't appreciate your comments! ^_^
